Giving All The ChoicesPatients often forget that one of the main choices that patients make is to do nothing. They decide to let things continue and hope for the best. Other patients decide to wait and consider their options, perhaps get a second opinion, or do some extra research on the internet. We mention these two options above because all patients have to make an informed decision, and that means all the options must be explained. And this includes the advantages and disadvantages of each option. Patients must know the various choices, but also their advantages and disadvantages. We try as hard as we can to make sure that any decision is made is an informed decision by the patient. Luckily most patients ask the simple question; "What would you do if you were me?"
Written Treatment PlansAll our patients get a Written Treatment Plan for each course of treatment, and they are accompanied by consent forms which are also available on the downloads page of this website.
Understanding The RisksAll treatment options carry a risk of complications and the risk of failure, and it is important for patients to understand ALL the risks. Many patients forget that one of the main reasons for failure of treatment is because patients fail to maintain adequate standards of oral hygiene and sugar intake, and this is particularly true for complex cosmetic treatments. This is why we offer an easy and cost effective Dental Hygienist service to our patients, with visits to the Hygienist for as little as £30 a time for a our regulars.
